Bell's palsy
Medical term for acute peripheral facial nerve paralysis, usually unilateral and temporary.
ベル麻痺は顔の片側の筋肉が突然動かなくなる病気です。
Bell's palsy is a condition in which the muscles on one side of the face suddenly become paralyzed.
Named after Scottish surgeon Sir Charles Bell. The Japanese term combines the katakana rendering of 'Bell' with 麻痺 (paralysis).
