woman who brings bad luck to a man

Slang term for a woman believed to cause misfortune to a man she is involved with, especially sexually. Often contrasted with あげまん (woman who brings good luck).

• 彼かれは彼かの女じょと付つき合あい始はじめてから運うんが悪わるくなったと言いって、彼かの女じょをサゲマン呼よばわりした。

  He said his luck had turned bad since he started dating her, and called her a 'sageman' (a woman who brings bad luck).

• サゲマンなんて言こと葉ばは迷めい信しんに過すぎない。

  Words like 'sageman' are nothing more than superstition.
