Casual, emphatic exclamation of shock, dismay, or frustration. A contraction of なんてことだ. Often used by male speakers.

• なんてこった！財さい布ふを忘わすれた。

  Oh no! I forgot my wallet.

• なんてこった、また雨あめかよ。

  Damn, rain again?
