Archaic literary 'taru' adjective, used in classical Japanese to describe a person's appearance as handsome or beautiful. Not used in modern everyday language.

• 古こ典てんでは「倩せんなる若わか者もの」のように用もちいられた。

  In classical texts, it was used like 'a good-looking young man'.
