Leibnitz daisy
A perennial herb native to East Asia, bearing a single flower head on a tall stalk. The Japanese name literally means 'thousand spears', referring to the many narrow ray florets.
In spring, you can see Leibnitz daisies blooming along mountain paths.
Kanji spelling exists but is rarely used; the plant is normally written in kana.
