nameless; anonymous; without a name
Pre-noun adjectival (rentaishi) used to describe something or someone whose name is unknown or not given. Often carries a poetic or literary tone. Compare with 名もない, which is more colloquial.

From 名 (name) + も (also) + なき (classical Japanese attributive form of なし, meaning 'not'). The classical form なき gives it a literary feel.
