唖あ唖あ

Archaic onomatopoeic adverb describing the caw of a crow or similar bird. Often used with と. Rare in modern Japanese; カーカー is the usual contemporary equivalent.

• 古ふるい詩しに「烏からす、唖あ唖あと鳴なく」とある。

  An old poem says, 'The crow caws with an a-a.'
