Archaic term for a woman's gentle, graceful, and kind disposition. Contrasts with 男気 (おとこぎ), 'chivalrous spirit'. Not used in modern Japanese.

Compound of 女 (おんな, 'woman') and 気 (ぎ, 'spirit, disposition'). The exact historical derivation is uncertain, but it follows the pattern of 男気 (おとこぎ).
