A type of small red mite of the superfamily Erythraeoidea, often seen on the ground or on plants. Not harmful to humans.

• 春はるになると、庭にわでタカラダニをよく見みかける。

  In spring, I often see erythaeid mites in the garden.

• タカラダニは赤あかくて小ちいさいので、ダニと間ま違ちがえられることがある。

  Because erythaeid mites are red and tiny, they are sometimes mistaken for ticks.
