Koizumi Children; the 83 new LDP MPs elected in the 2005 general election
Colloquial political term for the large cohort of first-term Liberal Democratic Party members who won seats in the September 2005 general election, widely seen as riding on Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi's popularity. Often used in media and political commentary.
