巋き然ぜん

Obsolete literary term describing something that rises high and imposingly, used adverbially with と or as a たる adjective. Not used in modern Japanese.

• 古ふるい漢かん文ぶんでは「巋き然ぜんとしてそびえる」のように使つかわれた。

  In old kanbun texts, it was used like 'towering loftily'.
