Archaic 'ku' adjective (ク活用) describing something faint, dim, or barely noticeable, often with a poetic or wistful tone. Not used in modern Japanese; encountered mainly in classical literature.

• 「かそけき光ひかりのもとに、影かげは揺ゆれていた」と古ふるい物もの語がたりにある。

  In an old tale, it says, 'In the faint light, the shadow wavered.'
