A Shinto ritual gesture: clapping without making sound, performed at funerals or certain Ise Grand Shrine rites.
At Shinto funerals, a silent clap (shinobide) is sometimes performed.
At a special ceremony at Ise Grand Shrine, the attendees performed the silent clap.
