zuru verb, intransitive verb
Archaic intransitive zuru-verb. In modern Japanese, 慢じる (まんじる) or 傲慢になる (ごうまんになる) are used instead.
古典では「慢ずる」と書いて「おごり高ぶる」意を表した。
In classical texts, 慢ずる was written to mean 'to be arrogant'.
Archaic zuru-verb form; the modern equivalent is 慢じる (まんじる).
From 慢 (まん, 'arrogance') + ずる, an archaic verb-forming suffix. The exact historical derivation is uncertain.
