save as; save a new copy
Used in software interfaces for saving a file under a new name or location, distinct from overwriting the original.
To save the document as a new file, please select Save As from the menu.
This function works the same as 'Save As'.
上書き保存 means 'save' (overwrite the existing file), while 新規保管 means 'save as' (create a new file).
保存 is a general term for 'save' (often overwriting), whereas 新規保管 explicitly means saving as a new file.
Compound of 新規 (new, fresh) and 保管 (storage, safekeeping). The term is a computing neologism, likely a direct translation of the English 'save as'.
