Used when someone psychs themselves up, puts in full effort, or gets into a focused, energetic state. Often heard in sports, work, or before a challenge.

To motivate or energize another person, sometimes through scolding, encouragement, or even physical urging (e.g., a slap on the back). The subject is the person doing the motivating.
監督は選手たちに気合を入れて、やる気を引き出した。
The coach fired up the players and drew out their motivation.
先輩が後輩に気合を入れて、練習を再開させた。
The senior student roused the junior and got them to resume practice.
