Archaic medical term for a localized swelling with heat, used in traditional Chinese medicine contexts. Not used in modern clinical Japanese.

• 古ふるい漢かん方ぽうの文ぶん献けんには「焮きん腫しゅ」という語ごが炎えん症しょう性せいの腫はれを指さして現あらわれる。

  In old Kampo texts, the word 焮腫 appears to refer to an inflammatory swelling.
