In shogi, the weaker player (usually the challenger or lower-ranked) uses the 玉将, while the stronger player uses the 王将 (ōshō). The pieces move identically.
玉将は将棋で最も大切な駒です。
The gyokushō is the most important piece in shogi.
玉将を取られたら負けです。
If your gyokushō is captured, you lose.
