Synonym also meaning carcinogenicity; 発がん性 is more common in general usage.
Etymology
Compound of 発 (hatsu, 'induce') + がん (gan, 'cancer') + 性 (sei, 'property'). The kanji 癌 is the full character for cancer, but がん in kana is widely used.
