Refers to a written sequel or a subsequent installment of a serialized work, such as a novel, article, or academic paper. Not used for film sequels (use 続編).

• 彼かれの新しん作さくは前ぜん作さくの続ぞっ稿こうとして発はっ表ぴょうされた。

  His new work was published as a sequel to the previous one.
