Japanese Brown (cattle breed)
A breed of beef cattle native to Japan, also known as 'Akage Washu'. Used in agricultural and livestock contexts.
Japanese Brown cattle are raised in large numbers in Kumamoto and Kochi prefectures.
Compound of 褐毛 (brown hair) + 和種 (Japanese breed). The exact historical derivation of the breed name is uncertain; it is a modern agricultural term.
