noun

setting-obsessed creator; worldbuilding nerd

Derogatory internet slang for a would-be writer or creator who fixates on detailed background settings at the expense of actual storytelling. Often used in online fiction communities.

That setting-obsessed creator decides every detail like characters' birthdays and blood types, but the story never progresses.

If you become too much of a worldbuilding nerd, you'll never finish your work.
