angle of attack
Technical term in aerodynamics and fluid dynamics; the angle between a reference line on a body (such as a wing chord) and the oncoming flow.
迎え角が大きすぎると、翼は失速する。

Compound of 迎え (mukae, 'meeting, receiving') + 角 (kaku, 'angle'), literally 'meeting angle'. The exact historical derivation is uncertain; the term is a modern technical coinage.
