Colloquial term for a train that stops at every station, as opposed to a 急行 (express). Often used in contrast with faster services.

• 鈍どん行こうで行いくと、目もく的てき地ちまで二に時じ間かんかかる。

  If you take the local train, it takes two hours to reach the destination.

• 急きゅう行こうに乗のり遅おくれたので、次つぎの鈍どん行こうを待まった。

  I missed the express, so I waited for the next local train.
