pyramidal cell
A type of neuron found in the cerebral cortex and hippocampus, characterized by a pyramid-shaped cell body. This meaning is less common and may be considered a misnomer or rare usage; the standard term for pyramidal cell is 錐体細胞 (すいたいさいぼう) in some contexts, but more commonly ピラミッド細胞 (ピラミッドさいぼう) or 錐体ニューロン. Use with caution.
Neurons called pyramidal cells exist in the cerebral cortex.
