sea-run variety; anadromous type
Technical term in fisheries biology for fish that migrate from freshwater to the sea, such as certain salmonids. Contrasts with 陸封型 (landlocked type).
Cherry salmon have both a sea-run variety and a landlocked variety.
Individuals of the sea-run type grow large in the ocean.
