静しずけし

Classical Japanese adjective (ku-adjective) meaning 'quiet' or 'silent'. Used in poetry and pre-modern texts. Modern equivalent is 静か (しずか).

• 万まん葉よう集しゅうに「静しずけしこの夜よ」と詠よまれている。

  In the Man'yōshū, it is composed as 'quiet is this night'.

• 古こ文ぶんでは「静しずけし」は「静しずかなり」と同おなじ意い味みで使つかわれた。

  In classical Japanese, 'shizukeshi' was used with the same meaning as 'shizukanari'.
