A traditional Japanese sweet: pounded rice cake either filled with or coated in sweet azuki bean paste. The term is sometimes associated with feminine speech, but the food itself is widely enjoyed.

Only with reading あんも
A rare, possibly dialectal or archaic reading あんも used for plain mochi. In modern standard Japanese, もち is the normal word.
