A variant of tag (鬼ごっこ) in which a player cannot be tagged if they are above the ground, such as on a step, rock, or playground equipment.

Compound of 高 (taka, 'high') and 鬼 (oni, 'it' in tag), referring to the rule that being in a high place makes one safe from the tagger.
