Yin energy; corporeal soul; spirit
In traditional Chinese philosophy and medicine, 魄 (はく) refers to the earthly, corporeal soul associated with Yin energy, often contrasted with 魂 (こん), the ethereal Yang soul. Rare in modern Japanese outside of classical or esoteric contexts.
