Z chromosome
Biology term for the sex chromosome found in birds, some reptiles, and other species where females are ZW and males are ZZ.
In birds, males have two Z chromosomes.
From English 'Z chromosome', where 'Z' is used to distinguish it from the X and Y chromosomes of the XY sex-determination system.
