から connects a reason to the conclusion, action, request, or situation that follows from it. It often presents the reason as supporting what the speaker thinks or chooses to do.
Reason first, response second
The clause before から gives the reason. The following clause tells you what follows from that reason: a fact, judgment, intention, suggestion, request, or command. Make sure the second clause is a believable response to the first.

Two important distinctions
ので also gives a reason and often presents it more gently as background explanation. This is a tendency, not a strict rule: both forms have overlapping uses. Also check what comes immediately before から: after a complete clause it can give a reason, but directly after a noun it may instead mark a starting point.
