~のなかで~がいちばんThe most within a group

This pattern selects one member as the highest on a particular scale within a group. It corresponds to English expressions such as “the most,” “the best,” or “the fastest among.”

How the comparison works

なか sets the group being compared. The member chosen from that group takes , and いちばん comes immediately before the adjective or verb that gives the scale of comparison.

Selecting one member

日本にほんせつなかあきいちばんきです

Of Japan’s seasons, I like autumn the best.
