すぎるToo much; excessively

Attach すぎる to a verb or adjective to say that an action or quality goes beyond an appropriate or expected degree: “too much,” “too many,” or “too.”

Actions and qualities

The speaker judges the action or quality against a limit suggested by the situation.

昨日きのうはケーキをべすぎた

Analyze

この部屋へやしずかすぎてすこかない。

This room is too quiet, so I feel a little uneasy.

Analyze

The limit comes from context

The form does not name an exact limit. A bag can be too heavy to carry, a room too quiet to feel comfortable, or a meal too large for one person. It often sounds critical, but it does not automatically scold anyone.

Not always a complaint

In an enthusiastic or humorous context, the same form can praise something for going impressively beyond expectations. The underlying idea is still excess; context tells you whether that excess is welcome.

このアプリは便べんすぎて、もうばなせない。

This app is so convenient that I cannot do without it now.

Analyze

Here the unusually high degree of convenience is welcome rather than a problem.
