Both mean 'about', but くらい is more colloquial and can be used with a wider range of expressions. ほど is slightly more formal and often used with quantities. くらい can also express a minimum degree (e.g., それくらいできる = I can do at least that much).

While 約 is correct, it can sound stiff in casual conversation. In everyday speech, くらい/ぐらい or 大体 are more natural for approximations.
