稼働率 (kadōritsu) is a general term for operating ratio, including all downtime. 可動率 (kadōritsu, same reading) is a stricter manufacturing term that excludes planned maintenance, focusing on when equipment is ready to run. In IT, 稼働率 is standard; in lean manufacturing, 可動率 is preferred for equipment effectiveness.
Avoid translating 'availability ratio' directly as 利用可能比率 (riyō kanō hiritsu) or 可用比率 (kayō hiritsu). These are not standard and may cause confusion. Stick to 稼働率 or 可用性 depending on context.
