Something is easy to see or notice because of its appearance, position, or contrast.
The most common and versatile word for 'stand out' or 'be conspicuous'. Can be used for people, objects, colors, etc.

To stand out strikingly, often in a positive sense. Implies excellence or distinctiveness.
To protrude or stick out, both physically and figuratively. Often used for something that is exceptionally high or ahead of others.
His grades are outstanding.

A na-adjective meaning 'prominent' or 'well-known', often used for people or institutions.
He is a prominent writer.
Means 'famous' or 'well-known'. Less formal than 著名な and very common.

目立つ is neutral and can be negative (conspicuous in a bad way). 際立つ is almost always positive and emphasizes excellence.
