Also works for subscriptions, but 解約 is more precise for contracts.

中止 (ちゅうし) is for temporary or one-time suspension, 廃止 (はいし) is for permanent abolition of systems/rules, and 打ち切り (うちきり) implies an abrupt or forced end, often for media.
中止 is for events or plans, not personal habits. Use やめる for stopping a personal habit like smoking.
The event has been discontinued/canceled.
