Both 胸 (mune, chest) and 心 (kokoro, heart) are used in emotional expressions. 胸 often implies a more physical, visceral sensation (tightness, pounding), while 心 is more about the inner emotional state. They are sometimes interchangeable, but 胸 is common in idiomatic phrases.
胸がいっぱい vs 心が満たされる
Both mean 'heart is full', but the former emphasizes a physical feeling of fullness, the latter a sense of emotional satisfaction.
Avoid directly translating 'fill one's heart' as 心を満たす (kokoro wo mitasu) unless you mean 'to satisfy one's heart' as an action someone takes. The passive/intransitive forms (心が満たされる, 胸がいっぱいになる) are much more natural for describing a state.
