Use そんなに when the degree is related to the listener's situation or something just mentioned. Use あんなに when referring to a shared distant memory or fact. Use あそこまで for physical distance to a far place.
A: 昨日のテスト、難しかった？ B: うん、そんなに難しかった。
A: Was yesterday's test hard? B: Yeah, it was that hard.
Do not directly translate 'that far' as その遠く (sono tooku) or あの遠さ (ano toosa). These are unnatural. Use the phrases above depending on context.
