The standard way to say 'transmit an infection'. Literally 'cause infection'.

伝える is for abstract things like feelings or messages in a general sense. 送信する is specifically for electronic transmission of data or signals. Don't use 送信する for transmitting a cold or an emotion.
伝送する is only for signals/data. For diseases, use 感染させる or うつす. Using 伝送する for illness sounds unnatural.
