Used when someone forces an unnatural or illogical interpretation, often to suit their own argument or narrative.

• 彼かれは自じ分ぶんの意い見けんに合あうように事じ実じつをこじつけた。

  He distorted the facts to fit his own opinion.

• その解かい釈しゃくはかなりこじつけていると思おもう。

  I think that interpretation is really stretching it.
