Used when you are involved in a traffic accident but the fault lies entirely with the other driver. Often contrasted with やり事故 (an accident you caused).

• 昨日きのう、交こう差さ点てんでもらい事じ故こに遭あった。

  Yesterday I was in a traffic accident at an intersection that was the other driver's fault.

• もらい事じ故こでも、保ほ険けん会がい社しゃへの連れん絡らくは必ひつ要ようだ。

  Even if the accident is the other party's fault, you still need to contact your insurance company.
