デニール
Meanings
1
denier
Unit of linear mass density for fibers, especially in textiles; higher denier means thicker thread.
These stockings are 30 denier.
The higher the denier, the stronger the fabric becomes.
Usage patterns
- 〈数〉デニールの〈物〉an item of a given denier (thread thickness)
I bought a pair of 30-denier stockings.
- デニールが高い/低いto have a high/low denier (i.e. thicker or thinner fiber)
These tights have a high denier, so they're warm in winter.
