互たがいに

Usage patterns

• 互たがいに〈動どう詞し〉合あうto do something to each other mutually (used with many verbs)

  私わたしたちは互たがいに助たすけ合あった。

  We helped each other.

• 互たがいに〈相あい手て〉を尊そん重ちょうするto respect each other

  夫ふう婦ふは互たがいに相あい手てを尊そん重ちょうするべきだ。

  A married couple should respect each other.

• 互たがいに歩あゆみ寄よるto compromise with each other (lit. to approach each other)

  両りょう国こくは互たがいに歩あゆみ寄よって合ごう意いに達たっした。

  The two countries compromised and reached an agreement.
