Buddha hall; main hall of a Zen temple
A temple building that enshrines a statue of Buddha, especially the main hall in a Zen Buddhist temple. The term is specific to Buddhist architecture.

Compound of 仏 (butsu, 'Buddha') and 殿 (den, 'hall' or 'palace'). The reading ぶつでん is the standard on'yomi combination.
