企き望ぼう

Obsolete term for making a plan while anticipating its success. In modern Japanese, 希望 (きぼう) is used for 'hope' or 'wish', and 企画 (きかく) or 計画 (けいかく) for 'planning'.

• 古ふるい文ぶん献けんでは「企き望ぼう」が計けい画かくと期き待たいの両りょう方ほうを含ふくむ意い味みで使つかわれている。

  In old documents, 企望 is used with a meaning that includes both planning and expectation.
