Traditional calendar term referring to eight specific days in the sexagenary cycle (49th, 51st, 52nd, 54th, 56th, 57th, 58th, and 60th). Considered unlucky, especially for starting new ventures, and associated with a high chance of rain. Often contrasted with 間日 (まび), which are the days between these eight that are considered more auspicious.
