Refers to a general area near the listener or a previously mentioned place. Similar to そこら, but slightly more colloquial.

  The cat I saw around there was very friendly.

Used to refer vaguely to a matter, point, or topic under discussion, often in a casual or dismissive way.

  We've already discussed that, so it's fine.

about that much; approximately that amount; thereabouts

Follows a quantity expression, often as ～かそこいら or ～やそこいら, to mean 'about that much' or 'or so'. Casual and approximate.
