Used in negative contexts to mean 'cannot do anything about it' or 'there is no way to...'. Often paired with ～ない or ～がたい.
この問題は如何ともしがたい。
There is nothing we can do about this problem.
彼の決意は如何とも変えられなかった。
His determination could not be changed in any way.
